Apapa

Penlee, Cornwall.—At 2.55 A.M. on the 30th October, 1937, the Penzance coastguard telephoned that the small motor boat Apapa, with one man on board, was missing from Newlyn.

A N.W. breeze was blowing, with a moderate sea and rain. The motor life-boat W'. and S. was launched at 3.20 A.M., and found the boat about three miles from Mousehole. She was at anchor, and the man was exhausted.

He was taken on board the life-boat and given stimulants, and his boat was towed into Newlyn harbour. The life-boat returned to her station at 4.45 A.M.—Rewards, £16 14s. 6d..
