Mr. Charles Livingston, Liverpool

Mr. Charles Livingston, who died on 2nd May of this year, in his eightieth year, was equally prominent as a ship- owner and a yachtsman on the Mersey.

He was for forty years managing director of Messrs. David Maclver & Co., was a member of the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board, and of the Royal Yacht Squadron, and was Vice- Commodore of the Royal Mersey Yacht Club. For forty years he was associ- ated with the Liverpool branch of the Institution. He had been its deputy chairman for ten years when, in 1933, ill health compelled him to resign, and he was vice-president of the New Brighton life-boat station..
