Provider
Whitby, Yorkshire.—On the morning of 2nd March only one fishing boat—• the Provider—took the risk of going to sea, as the weather was bad and a heavy sea was breaking a long way outside the harbour entrance. It was decided to send the motor life-boat Margaret Harker Smith to see her safely in, and the crew stood by. At 3.15 P.M. the life-boat was launched and moored against the fish quay.
At 4 P.M. she put out, as the Provider had been seen off Kettleness Point.
She escorted her into harbour, through very' heavy seas, and returned to her station at 5 P.M.—Rewards £9 4s. 6d..
