Whitby, Yorkshire.—During the morning and early afternoon of the 27th January the weather was very bad, and only one coble, the Pilot Me, took the risk of going out. When she was seen returning a very heavy sea was running into the harbour, and breaking clean over the pier extensions. The motor life-boat Margaret Harker Smith was launched at 3.50 P.M., met the Pilot Me about three-quarters of a mile out, and escorted her into harbour.
