Homeland, Provider and Harold

Newbiggin, Northumberland. — The local motor fishing cobles Homeland, Provider and Harold did not return when expected on the 17th December, and the pulling and sailing life-boat Arthur R. Dawes was launched at 2.2 P.M. A fresh S.E. breeze was blowing, with a heavy swell. Just as the lifeboat got away the cobles were seen approaching. The Provider's engine had broken down and the other cobles had been standing by her. The lifeboat escorted them into safety, and returned tocher station at 2.45 P.M.— Rewards, £14 4s..
