Sydia
Bembridge, Isle of Wight.—On the evening of the 16th September a party of three women and a man went cruising in the motor yacht Sydia. The sea was rather rough, with a strong N.E. breeze.
The yacht ran across the submarinebarrier, and becoming water-logged, was abandoned, the party taking to the dinghy. They reached the Horse Sand Fort. It was decided to send the motor life-boat Langham to bring the three women ashore. She put off at 11.5 P.M.
and brought them ashore at 1.55 A.M.
