Stella Maris

Bembridge, Isle of Wight. — In the early morning of the 12th July a message was received that two men in a boat, north-east of Ryde pier, were shouting for help and flashing a light.

A fresh west breeze was blowing, with a choppy sea. The motor life-boat Langham was launched at 2 A.M., and found the boat Stella Maris, of Southbourne, drifting. The two men had been picked up by the mine-sweeper Tedworth. They were transferred to the life-boat, which took them and their boat into the roads. The life-boat returned to her station at 4.45 A.M.— Rewards, £12 3s..
