Whitby, Yorkshire.—Several fishing boats went to sea early on the morning of the 28th May. The weather got bad and some of them came in. By 8 A.M.

a heavy sea was rolling in and breaking at the harbour entrance, and a strong N.E. breeze was blowing. As there were six boats still to come in the motor life-boat Margaret Harker Smith was launched at 8.55 A.M.
