Elsina

Shoreham Harbour, Sussex.—On the evening of the 5th April the coastguard reported that a yacht was in difficulties one mile S.W. of the harbour, and that a motor boat which had gone to her help had broken down in the harbour.

A strong N.E. breeze was blowing, with a .moderate sea. The motor life-boat Rosa Woodd and Phyllis Lunn was launched at 7.15 P.M., and found the yacht Elsina, of Shoreham, two miles S.W. of the harbour. The Elsina carried a crew of six. Her engine had broken down, and she was drifting farther out to sea. She and the six men were brought back to harbour, and the life-boat returned to her station at 8.25 P.M.—Rewards, £10 5s..
