As the island steamer was aground, and could not get away for at least six hours, it was decided to use the motor life-boat Cunard, and she was launched at 10.15 P.M. A strong N.E. breeze was blowing, with a rough sea and rain. The life-boat embarked the man from the pier, and landed him at Penzance at 4.58 A.M., after a bad passage, against wind and tide.
