Harold

The motor life-boat Anne Allen was launched at 11.32 A.M. on the 2nd December, as the coastguard had reported that a fishing boat, six and a half miles S.E. of Skeg- ness, had hoisted distress signals. A strong W. by S. breeze was blowing, with a rough sea. The life-boat found the boat to be the Harold, of Boston, with a crew of three. She was nearly submerged, her anchor, sails and small boat had gone, her pumps were out of order and her engine had broken down.

The three men were completely ex- hausted, having been out for two days in very bad weather. They were rescued and taken ashore. Their vessel foundered shortly after they were taken off. The life-boat returned to her station at 1 P.M.—Rewards, £9 17s..
