The life-boat went in the direction of Deal, found the four boats and escorted them into Ramsgate harbour, arriving at 5.13 A.M. In the meantime the barge Celtic, of London, bound from London to Sandwich, with a load of timber and a crew of three, had been kept under observation, as she had been driving all night, after having anchored in Pegwell Bay, until she was in a very dangerous position.
