On the night of the 29th August the Berry Head coastguard was informed by a boy that three people were marooned on Cradle Rock, St. Mary's Bay. Dark- ness was setting in, and as no boat could be seen, the life-boat station was informed. At 8.45 P.M. the motor life-boat George Shee put out in a rough sea, with a moderate N.E. wind blowing. She took the three people off the rock and landed them at Brix- ham at 9.30 P.M. They were visitors to Torbay, a father and two sons, and were very grateful for the life-boat's help.—Rewards, £9 7s..
