Fishing Boats

On the 21st April the coastguard telephoned that three small fishing boats were sheltering behind the North Pier. A strong S.E. breeze was blowing with a rough sea, and it was raining. As the wind was increasing rapidly, it was decided to send out the motor life-boat Henry Frederick Swan, and she put off at 3 P.M. She escorted the boats through the very dangerous harbour entrance, and returned to her station at 3.45 P.M.—Rewards, £5 18s..
