In the meantime the pulling and sailing life-boat Jacob and Rachel Vallentine had put off, and was lying-to outside the pier ends. She stood by while the cobles Lady Morris, Royal Empire and Louise Mary crossed the bar, and returned to her moorings at 10.45 A.M.
