St. Mary's, Scilly.—The motor lifeboat Cunard was launched at 3.50 P.M.

on the 26th July, as the Bishop Rock lighthouse was making flag and rocket signals, but, owing to the misty weather, the flags could not be read. A strong W.N.W. breeze was blowing, with a rough sea. An urgent message for Trinity House was thrown to the lifeboat, which brought it ashore. She arrived back at her station at 5.35 P.M.

—The Trinity House defrayed the expenses of this launch..
