Mardy
Aldeburgh, Suffolk. —On the 20th August the motor barge Mardy, of King's Lynn, ran ashore on the outer shoal at the entrance to the River Aide.
She carried a crew of six, and was bound with a cargo of coal from Boston to Aldeburgh. News was received from the coastguard, and the No. 1 motor life-boat Abdy Beauclerk was launched at 1.15 P.M. A moderate south gale was blowing, with a rough sea. The life-boat found the Mardy awash, but her master did not wish to abandon.
