Launch Out

The motor fishing boat Launch Out left harbour on the morning of the 10th April to haul lines. The weather was bad, and as it gradually got worse, with very heavy seas off the pier, the coxswain decided to launch the motor life-boat Herbert Joy II in case her help was wanted.

She was launched at 4.15 P.M., and after waiting in the bay until the Launch Out was seen approaching, put out to meet her. She went about one and a half miles to the N.N.E. and escorted the boat safely back to harbour. She returned to her station at 5.50 P.M.—Rewards, £14 18s..
