15th March. A steamer had gone ashore on Cardigan Island, but her crew of four scrambled to safety and were brought to the mainland by the life-saving apparatus. A letter of appreciation was sent to Mr. Joseph Soar, honorary secretary at St. David's, who went in the life-boat, and extra rewards were granted to the crew of the St. David's life-boat and to a man who was washed overboard from the Fishguard life-boat.—Rewards, Fish- guard, £21 2s. 6d.; St. David's, £2115s..
