Hibernia

The motor life-boat Sarah Ward and William David Crosweller was launched at 8.5 P.M. on the 19th January, during a moderate S.S.E. gale with a rough sea, to the help of the motor vessel Hibernia, of Skibbereen. She had grounded on the rocks at Courtmac- sherry Harbour mouth earlier in the day, while bound with a general cargo, from Cork to Skibbereen. The life-boat found that her engine had broken down and that she was fast on a rock. With some difficulty owing to the shallow water and the rocks, her crew of three were taken off and the life-boat returned, reaching her station again at 9 P.M.—Rewards, £14 Os. 6d..
