Clarinda

On the morning of the 23rd March the coxswain was told that the small local motor fishing boat Clarinda, with four men on board, had not returned with the rest of the fleet from the Ballantrae Banks. A moderate S.E. gale was blowing, with a heavy sea, and great anxiety was felt for her safety. The motor life-boat Lily Glen-Glasgow was launched at 11 A.M. and found the Clarinda near Bennane Head, about seven miles from Girvan. She towed her safely back to harbour, and arrived back at her station at 2 P.M.—Rewards, £6 17«. 6d..
