The Cox- swain was informed at 5.50 P.M. on the 15th November that the Barrels Rock Light-vessel had fired a rocket, and the Pulling and Sailing Life-boat John Dunn was launched in a strong S.E. breeze with a rough sea. She found that the mate of the light-vessel was seriously ill. With great difficulty he was lowered into the Life-boat and brought ashore, where he was at once taken to hospital.
