Life-Boat Carol-Singing

LAST Christmas eleven Branches ar- ranged carol-singing parties, several new Branches trying this form of appeal.

Sussex was again the most successful county, with carol-singers at East Grinstead, Bognor Regis and Cuck- field and Hayward's Heath. The East Grinstead Branch, which has been the leader in carol-singing, collected £22, making a total of £150 in six years.

Bognor Regis, which again divided its collection between the Institution and another charity, collected £28.

The other Branches which had carol- singing parties were Leatherhead and Marlow in Surrey, Badsey, Kidder- minster and Lye in Worcestershire, Chelmsford and Walthamstow (Essex), Bishop's Stortford (Hertfordshire), Cleethorpes (Lincolnshire) and Yardley Wood (Warwickshire). It will be seen that carol-singing seems to appeal particularly to the South-east of England and the Midlands..
