Irene

The Motor Life- boat George Shee was launched at 4.45 A.M. on the 26th November, as a telephone message had been received from the Coastguard that a fishing boat, about two miles south of Combe Point, was burning flares. A strong W. breeze was blowing, with a rough sea and driving rain. The Life-boat found the motor fishing boat Irene, of Brixham, at anchor. She was helpless with her propeller fouled by her nets, and her crew of two were exhausted.

They were taken into the Life-boat and given stimulants, and the Life- boat brought them back to Brixham harbour, with the Irene in tow. She arrived back at her Station at 8.15 A.M.—Rewards, £14 9s. 6d..
