The Motor Life-boat Morison Watson was launched at mid- day on the 18th October as the owner of the fishing boat Campaina had brought news that his boat, which was riding at anchor in Garlieston Bay, with no one on board, was in danger of being blown out to sea. A gale was blowing from the W.N.W. and the sea was rough. The Life-boat took the Campaina in tow and brought her safely into Garlieston Harbour. This was a property salvage service, but the crew of the Life-boat generously gave their services free as the owner of the fishing boat could not afford to pay.— Expenses, 10s..
