A mes- sage was received from the St. David's Coastguard on the morning of the 23rd June that a vessel was in distress near the Smalls Lighthouse. A fresh northerly breeze was blowing with a smooth sea, but the weather was thick.

The Motor Life-boat Elizabeth Elson was launched at 6 A.M. and searched over a large area for some hours, arriving back at her Station at 1 P.M.
