Fishing Cobles

While the Sunderland Motor Life-boat Henry Vernon was - out on exercise on the afternoon of 30th March, signals of dis- tress were seen from the fishing coble D.C.M., of Sunderland, about one and a half miles east of Roker. On reaching the coble the Life-boat found that her oars had been broken, and that she was drifting, half full of water. A strong N.W. breeze was blowing, with a moderate sea. The Life-boat took the coble in tow and brought her, and her crew of four, into port.—Rewards, £5 14s..
