A Schooner
In the early hours of the morning of 5th April, the Coxswain was roused by fishermen who reported that a vessel was apparently in distress on the South Tail. Although no signals of distress were seen, it was thought advisable to send out the Motor Life-boat V.C.S., and she was launched at 2.30 A.M. in a strong N.N.E.
breeze. On reaching the South Tail she found that a schooner had been aground but had refloated with the incoming tide and did not need any help in making Appledore. The Life-boat arrived back at her Station at 4.30 A.M.—Rewards, £12 18s..
