About 4.30 P.M. on 24th October, during a strong N.N.E. breeze with a rough sea, infor- mation was received through the Coast- guard that the motor boat Mascot was in difficulties off Sands Head, and later it was reported that two men from the Mascot had come ashore at Seaview and asked that the Life-boat should be sent.

The Motor Life-boat Langham was launched and found the motor boat with her engine broken down, her sails damaged, and the two men who had remained on board in a state of collapse from sea sickness. She landed the two men and towed their boat to safety.— Rewards, £19 17s. 6d..
