THE ROYAL NATIONAL LIFE-BOAT INSTI- TUTION has received, through the Belgian Ambassador, the Civic Cross of the 1st Class, which the King of the Belgians has conferred on it " In recognition of valuable services rendered by the Insti- tution, and in commemoration of the centenary of its foundation." This is the seventh medal awarded to the Institution in recognition of its services to humanity during a hundred years.
