Awards to Coxswains and Life-Boat Men

To WM. CHAS. JAMES, on his retirement, after serving four years as Second Coxswain and eighteen years as Coxswain of the Point of Ayr Life-boat, a Framed Certificate of Service and a Pension.

To JOSEPH HUGHES, on his retirement, after serving twenty-three years as Coxswain of the Rhyl Life-boat, a Pension.

To MATTHEW HAYES, on his retirement, after serving eleven years as Bowman, four years as Second Coxswain, and ten years as Coxswain of the Rosslare Harbour Life- boat, a Pension.

To JAMES SMITH, on his retirement, after serving nine and a half years as Coxswain of the Tramore Life-boat, a Gratuity.

To GRIFFITH WILLIAMS, on his retirement from the post of Signalman at Beaumaris, after having been connected with the Penmon and Beaumaris Life-boats for forty- two years, a Certificate of Service.

To ANDREW CABOILL, on his retirement, after serving twenty-two years as Second Cox- swain of the Montrose Life-boats, a Certifi- cate of Service and a Pension.

To THOMAS EVANS, on his retirement, after serving seven years as Second Coxswain of the St. David's Life-boat, a Gratuity.

To THOMAS GREEN, on his retirement, after serving six years as Bowman and eight years as Second Coxswain of the Pwllheli Life-boat, a Pension.

To THOMAS POWER, on his retirement, after- serving nine and a half years as Second Cox- j swain of the Tramore Life-boat, a Gratuity.

To THOMAS ROSSER, on his retirement, after serving twenty years as Signalman at Little Haven, a Pension.

To JOHN COWIE, on his retirement, after serving eleven years as Second Coxswain and six years as Coxswain of the Buckie Life-boat, a Pension.

To OWEN H. WILLIAMS, on his retirement, after serving seventeen years as Bowman of the Point of Ayr Life-boat, a Pension.

To JAMES McLEOD, on his retirement, after serving twelve and a half years as Bowman of the Lossiemouth Life-boat, a Pension.

To GEORGE D. DUNCAN, on his retirement, after serving twelve and a half years as Signalman at Johnshaven, a Pension.

To WILLIAM MACKIE, on his retirement, after serving eight years as Bowman and sixteen years as Second Coxswain of the Margate Life-boat, a Certificate of Service and a Pension.

To JOHN BREEDS, on his retirement, after serving twenty-four years as Signalman at Hastings, a Pension.

JOHN REES, the Bowman at Tenby, was compelled to resign owing to ill-health, and a Compassionate Allowance of 10s. per week was granted. He died when only two weekly payments had been made, and the Committee granted £4 towards funeral ex- penses.

To WILLIAM MABSH, who sustained a broken leg while acting as a member of the crew of the North Deal Life-boat, a Compassionate Grant of £2 per week during his incapacity.

The following Certificates have been pre- sented to the relatives of men who lost their lives in the Life-boat Service.

These men lost their lives in the accident to the Rhoscolyn (Anglesey) Life-boat on the 3rd December, 1920, after launching to the assistance of the s.s. Timbo, of Whitby, during a whole N.W. by N. gale, with a very heavy sea.

Widow of JAMES MoBAY.

This man lost his life in the accident to the Johnshaven Life-boat when she was returning to harbour with the rescued crew of the Danish barquentine Fredensborg, during a S.E. gale, with a very heavy sea, on the 21st December, 1920.
