Awards to Coxswains

The following Awards were made to Coxswains during April, May, June and July :— To THOMAS WILLIAM JONES, on his retire- ment, after serving 11 years as Coxswain of the Aberdovey Life-boat, and, previous to that, 29 years as Second Coxswain, Bowman and a member of the crew, a Framed Certifi- cate of Service and a Pension.

To R. SMITH, on his retirement, after 10 years' service as Coxswain of the Tynemouth Life- boat, a Framed Certificate of Service, a Pension, and in addition to these a gratuity of ten guineas in recognition of his special and valuable services to the Institution.

In 1913 Coxswain Smith was awarded the Silver Medal; in 1914 the Gold Medal for the service to the hospital ship Rohilla, and in 1916 the Silver Second Service Clasp and the Thanks of the Committee of Management inscribed on Vellum.

To RICHARD PARR, on his retirement, after 14 years' service as Coxswain of the Black- pool Life-boat, a Framed Certificate of Service and a Pension..
