The S.S. Amy
Shortly after 5 A. M, on the llth October, it was reported that a vessel was ashore on the Sizewell Bank, and the No. 2 Life-boat Edward Z. Dresden was launched. A strong S.E. by E. wind was blowing, and a nasty sea was breaking on the Sand Bank. Before the Life-boat reached the vessel, which was the s.s. Amy, em- ployed on Government work, she knocked off into deep water, and the services of the Life-boat were declined. The cap- tain, however, reported that one of the boats was adrift with four men in her, and the Life-boat proceeded to search for her. The Life-boat ran down before the wind and succeeded in picking up the boat, and took her and her occupants back to the ship..
