Holy Wath
At about 1.30 A.M. on the 28th October,- during a strong E.S.E. gale, signals of distress were exhibited on a vessel which was riding in the bay. The Life-boat Mary Isabella was launched in a very rough sea with the assistance of the haul-off' warp, and proceeded to the vessel, which proved to be the Holy Wath, belonging to Whitehaven. The three men on board were rescued and the boat re- turned ashore. The vessel at the time was bound for Wioklow from Duddon in ballast..
