Ruby
On the 6th February, while the fishing fleet were at sea, the wind suddenly rose, bringing with it a very heavy sea. Most of the boats succeeded in getting into harbour, but one, named the Ruby, had her foresail carried away and was in danger of being driven ashore near Milton Ness. The No. 1 Life-boat Sarah Jane Turner was launched at 10 A.M. and proceeded to the assistance of the men on board. They found the boat about three miles to the north of Montrose and, having taken the crew of three hands into the Life-boat, they secured the boat and towed her back to Montrose. The men when picked up were quite exhausted..
