Fishing Boats
At 3.30 A.M. on the 31st October two cobles proceeded to the fishing grounds, and, while fishing, a strong gale suddenly sprang up from the N.E., bringing with it a rough and heavy sea.
At 7 A.M., when the boats attempted to return ashore, it was seen that they were in great danger, and the crew of the Life-boat Mary Ann Lockwood were immediately summoned. The boat was launched within a few minutes, and stood by the cobles until they were able to effect a safe landing..
