St Malo

.—At 3.15 P.M. on the 18th March a French cargo steamer, named the St. Malo, and belonging to St. Nazaire, struck the bar when leaving the harbour, and knocked round broad- side to the sea. The Life-boat Michael Henry was sent to her assistance, but the Master stated that he did not want any help. As, however, the vessel's anchor was dragging and there was a very nasty sea running, the Life-boat stood by until the vessel was successfully floated. A pilot was then put on board, and the boat accompanied the steamer into harbour..
