On the 15th January, in a strong south-east breeze and rough sea, one fishing coble only ventured to put to sea, and shortly after 9.30 A.M. it was seen that she was in trouble. The Life- boat Matthew Simpson was launched, and, as the coble ran for the harbour, stood by her in case of accident.
