Trosvik

The barque Trosvik, of Brevik, was observed making for the harbour at 9.30 A.M. on 27th November. The seas were break- ing heavily on the bar, and for some distance up the river. The vessel was in a water-logged condition and when near the " Black Middens " became un- manageable. It subsequently proved that her steering-gear was out of order, she having struck on the rocks. The motor Life-boat Henry Vernon proceeded to her assistance and stood by until tugs were able to tow her into safety..
