The Life-boat Thomas McCunn was summoned on the morning of the 5th November to the assistance of a vessel in distress and wanting help off Drummore. The boat was transported on her carriage to the vicinity of the distressed vessel and launched in a hurricane of wind. She succeeded in rescuing the crew of three men and brought them into safety. The vessel was the schooner Glide, of Belfast, and was bound from Maryport to Port Logan with a cargo of coal..
