Alexandra
.—At 7.15 A.M. on the 13th November the Coxswain of the Life - boat, James Stevens No. 1, sighted a dismasted vessel about three miles to the south of Port St. Mary. He immediately assembled his crew, and very promptly launched the boat. A strong N.N.W.
breeze was blowing, and under sail the Life-boat reached the vessel in thirty-five minutes. She proved to be the ketch Alexandra, of Chester, bound for Belfast with a cargo of bricks and tiles.
At the request of the master the Life- boat stood by, and afterwards Life- boabinen were put on board, and, accom- panied by the boat, they succeeded in getting the vessel safely into Douglas Harbour..
