Claggan
On 21st February, at about 7.45 P.M., during a strong S.S.W. gale, a flare was observed to the eastward of the Harbour. The Life-boat Mary Isabella was launched, and was quickly alongside the vessel.
She proved to be the schooner Olaggan, of Barrow, bound from Dublin to Peel, which had come to anchor off Ramsey at 7 o'clock that morning. When the Life-boat arrived ske found that the crew of three hands were waiting in readiness to leave their vessel, as they feared she could drag her anchors. The men were transferred to the Life-boat, which beat back to the harbour and landed them at 9.15 P.M..
