The s.s.
Aquila, of Liverpool, inward bound from Las Palmas'with cargo and passengers stranded near Rhosneigir, at 8.30 P.M., on the 6th April. A strong N.E.
wind was blowing and the weather was very thick and very cold. The Life- boat Thomas Lingham was promptly launched and proceeded to her assistance.
At the request of the captain the Life- boat stood by her all night until 7.30A.M., when on the morning tide she floated off and was able to proceed..
