The Coxswain slipped the Life-boat's mooring and went along- side the barge, which was found to be in a sinking condition and urgently in need of assistance. The Life-boat immediately returned ashore, a full crew was obtained and she again pro- ceeded to the vessel. The Life-boatmen were engaged to get the barge to Harwich Harbour, and were put on to man the pumps and to bail with buckets, and eventually the barge was got into Harwich and placed on the mud..
