During a strong W.S.W. breeze at about 7.30 P.M. on the 21st July a ketch was observed trying to make the harbour; she missed stays, drifted to eastward, and struck the bar just off the east pier. The crew of the Life-boat Michael Henry were assembled and the boat launched to the assistance of the distressed vessel.
