Resolute
A fierce W.N.W. gale sprang up shortly before midnight on the 6-7th January and increased as the night advanced. At about 1 A.M. the ketch Resolute, of New- castle, which was at anchor in the roads, made signals of distress as the three men on board feared that she would drag her anchor and strand. The crew of the Life-boat Co-operator No. 3 were promptly assembled and rescued the endangered men, regaining the shore at about 4 A.M..
