Clydesdale
At about 5 A.M. on the 5th March signals of dis- tress were made by a vessel on the West Scar Bocks, about 400 yards from the shore. The Life-boat Fifi and Charles was launched and proceeded to her. She proved to be the steamer Clydesdale, of Sunderland, homeward bound in ballast from Hamburg. The master at once engaged the Life-boatmen to assist in getting her off. A kedge anchor was run out, and about 2 P.M. the vessel was floated and towed into safety by a tug, which had also been engaged to salve the vessel..
