Fishing Cobles (1)

On the 5th April a heavy broken sea on the bar prevented the majority of the fishing fleet from putting out to sea, but three of the cobles ventured out, incurring great risk and causing considerable excitement. About 1.30 two of them returned and anchored in the roads.

As it was seen they were unable to regain the harbour, the No. 1 Life-boat Robert and Mary Ellis proceeded to them and brought them in. Shortly after 4 P.M. the other coble also returned; the Life-boat again proceeded to the bar and assisted that also..
