Pearl
In very cold weather, during heavy snow-showers, the Life-boat Hollon the Second was launched on the 25th February, to assist a vessel which was reported ashore under Speeton Cliffs. On reaching the vessel it was found that she had lost her rudder and propeller, and that the fore compartment was full of water.
At the request of the Captain the Life- boat stood by the vessel in case the efforts to float her were not successful, but at high water, with the aid of two tugs, the steamer was floated and taken to Scarborough. The vessel was the steam-trawler Pearl, of Grimsby, and at the time of the accident she was bound to Grimsby with a cargo of fish..
