Janie
The schooner Janie, i of Padstow, whilst bound from Llanelly to London, stranded during moderate weather on the 23rd February on the north-west part of the Tongue sand.
In response to signals from light- vessels the No. 1 Life-boat Eliza Harriet was launched and proceeded to the sands. The master stated on the arrival of the boat that he did not think he would require any assistance, but she remained close at hand until the schooner floated, and then finding that the vessel was not making any water she returned | home. The schooner was taken in tow I by a steamer..
